- HEALTH EDUCATION SPECIALIST
Information Ventures, Inc., a Center City publisher and information services provider, seeks an experienced Health Education Specialist for a position that may be full time, part-time, or freelance to support various health education projects, including policy analysis and development of curricula, toolkits, and health education programs and materials targeting issues of public health importance. Qualified individual will have an advanced degree in public health or health education and experience developing health education programs and program materials that incorporate evidence-based strategies, evaluating programs, and conducting formative research. - BIOMEDICAL INDEXER
We are actively seeking full-time staff with graduate level training, clinical or preclinical expertise, and good English language comprehension to index journal articles using National Library of Medicine (NLM) Medical Subject Headings (MeSH). Successful candidates will receive 2-3 weeks of vigorous full-time training on-site at the NLM in Bethesda, Maryland. Following successful completion of training, you will be provided with computer equipment and high speed internet access to facilitate working from home. Mandatory Requirement: Ability to meet face to face with NLM staff on the NIH campus once a week for approximately one hour. We are seeking candidates who can provide full-time, continuous, uninterupted indexing services and have the potential to index at least 150-200 articles/week. - SCIENTIFIC/TECHNICAL WRITERS
Information Ventures, Inc., a Center City publishing and information services firm, seeks experienced technical writers to participate in the preparation of scientific technical reports on agents of public health interest. Individuals will draft Materials and Methods and Results sections and edit sections drafted by subject matter experts (SMEs) to produce a final draft document. Candidates must have excellent writing and editing skills and the ability to assimilate and convey scientific information in a concise, effective manner. Must also be able to interact effectively with SMEs to resolve inconsistencies and clarify information. Qualified candidates will have a science background with at least a Bachelors degree in a biomedical discipline and 1-3 years of scientific writing and editing experience in a biomedical or toxicology-related subject area. Qualified candidates will have expert knowledge of toxicology, chemistry, and epidemiology and experience assessing and evaluating scientific literature, generating health-based guidance values for hazardous substances, conducting human exposure risk assessments, and writing, editing, and preparing scientific documents.
