EMF Database

The EMF Database is a database produced by Information Ventures, Inc. This database provides bibliographic references and abstracts of published material covering the biological and health effects of electromagnetic fields.

  • Do you need to have in-depth analysis of specific research studies at your fingertips?
  • Do you want to review EMF research work carried out by a specific scientist, or track research conducted at a particular research institution or funded by a specific agency?
  • Do you need to write reports summarizing developments in a particular area of EMF research?
  • Do you want to find all EMF studies performed on a particular organism or within a particular frequency range?

If your answer to any of the above is "yes," you need IVI's EMF Database. IVI scientific and technical staff systematically collect, document, and review the world's research literature on EMF biological effects. The end result of their effort is a comprehensive and detailed examination and analysis of EMF bioeffects scientific literature published on CD-ROM in bibliographic database format with quarterly updates. To make search and retrieval of specific information painless and simple, we utilize sophisticated text retrieval software. The result is IVI’s EMF Database, which currently contains over 31,500 unique records summarizing scientific texts published since 1895.

The EMF Database is a comprehensive and reliable resource for monitoring and analyzing EMF research. Each EMF Database record includes a complete, standardized, and detailed reference citation to the primary source document. In addition, we also provide, when available, addresses of primary and secondary authors, funding sources credited in the study, and key words provided by the authors. The primary feature of each EMF Database record is a comprehensive original abstract that provides a detailed account of the research work under investigation. Abstracts are prepared by Ph.D.-level professional staff who understand the scientific implications of the study results and their relationship to other EMF studies. Unlike author abstracts and summaries written to the varied requirements of specific scientific journals, EMF Database abstracts provide a uniform comprehensive summary of each author’s unique research work. A detailed abstract describes each experiment with emphasis on EMF-related aspects of the work. We provide all of the critical details of exposure, sample size, and experimental methods to help users assess the validity of the author’s results. Numerical values and their statistical significance are included in the abstract. For most users, the EMF Database abstracts provide everything needed to understand, analyze, and assess the published article.
