The author summarized epidemiological studies concerned with adverse health effects of intense radiofrequency radiation (RFR) exposure. Among the health effects found were hematologic abnormalities, chromosome abnormalities, leukemia and cancers of the female genitalia among US embassy workers in Moscow exposed to RF from Soviet sources, decreased leukocyte and erythrocyte counts among radar-exposed technicians at the Zagreb airport, lymphatic and hematopoietic cancers among US Navy radar personnel, a cluster of leukemia cases among Hawaiian children living near a Naval broadcast facility, and an increased abortion rate among female physiotherapists exposed to microwaves from diathermy units. The author concluded that, in spite of methodological problems with some of the studies, the results do suggest possible effects that should be considered for further investigation. [BENER 13810]
